It should be stressed here that the screening committees
meet only to discuss correct category placement. Committee
members do not make judgments based on the quality of a
recording, a matter which is left to the Recording Academy's
voting members after the screening process is completed.
After the screening meetings are over, first drafts of the
final entry lists are assembled and forwarded to the
National Trustees and Boards of Governors of each of the
seven chapters for additional verification. The process then
continues with two rounds of balloting, finally resulting
in the winners who are ultimately announced.
For more than three decades, the screening process has
been integral to the Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy
sends its heartfelt thanks to the committee members
whose time, effort, expertise and dedication have made
the screening process such a success.
